FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community School District announced earlier this month that they will be hosting a week-long camp for students finishing kindergarten through 6th grade. The camp will run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Fort Madison Junior and Senior High School the week of June 17th. Children will get an opportunity to explore different activities ranging from outdoor activities to sports and even yard games.
The activities department at FMCSD has worked in partnership with both the Lee County Conservation Department and Baxter Sports Complex to offer the students a wide variety of choices and experiences. This offering will allow for the children to explore activities they will have the opportunity to participate in when they reach 7th grade and beyond.
Fort Madison Activities Director Jeff Lamb said, “We’re excited to offer all of our FMCSD community, and students of other communities, the opportunity to try new things and work with our incredible staff to develop relationships not only with their peers but with members of our area that they will be working with as they get older. Our goal is to create comfort for these students to try new things that they may not otherwise attempt and hopefully get them out for activities when they get to us in the Junior and Senior High.”
The fee for the week is $50.00 and you can register through the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeFadlIUBVUbau79V7rH9riPTwLi-YhyTTX2F_g4ONu4rwHbw/viewform?usp=sf_link. Families are welcome to reach out to the Fort Madison Activities Office at 319.470.7459 if they have any questions.
