Lowenberg 1-over as Hawks win invitational

Hawks win on home course in Donnellson

DONNELLSON – The Central Lee Hawks won their own Invitational Saturday morning at Green Acres Golf Course.
Mylan Lowenberg recorded three birdies on the way to a one-over 73 to lead Central Lee and take medalist honors at the event. He had just one bogey on the second turn playing even par to win the event.
Caleb Larson shot an 80, Bo Herdrich had an 81, and Carson Morrison carded an 86 to round out the scoring golfers for Central Lee.
Fort Madison took 3rd place with a team score of 348. Brady Wade started hot going 1-under through four holes with back-to-back birdies on holes 3 and 4 but cooled off with a double bogey 7 on hole 8 the first way through and then shot 5-over on the second run. Oliver Santiago shot an 87, Cole Quittem shot an 89, and Rowan Benda carded a 91 to make up the Bloodhound team score.
For Holy Trinity, Luke Hellige shot an 87, Nathan Box had a 103, Blake Mohrfeld shot a 104, and Max Kruse shot a 111 to make up the Crusaders' 405 giving them a 6th-place finish on the day.
Other golfers and scores for Central Lee included Cale Clark with an 87 and Kaden Swan with a 91. For Fort Madison Cade Denning shot a 96 and Colton Boyer finished with an even 100. For the Crusaders Andy Mehmert came in with a 112 and Brock Scheetz shot a 114.
