LEE COUNTY - Lee County Conservation is thrilled to announce its collaboration with Pheasants Forever for an Earth Day Volunteer Workday scheduled for Saturday, April 20th, from 9 a.m. to Noon. The event will take place at two locations: Heron Bend Conservation Area (2652 Hwy 61, Montrose, IA 52639) and Chatfield Park (3592 Iowa Rd, Keokuk, IA 52632). This presents a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to contribute to environmental efforts in celebration of Earth Day.
Volunteers are welcome to join us at either location. Activities will include habitat improvements, litter collection, trail upkeep, natural playground construction, and more. To show appreciation for their efforts, Pheasants Forever will provide all participants with a complimentary lunch at the Lee County Conservation Center starting at 11:30 AM.
If volunteers have their own loppers and/or gloves, they can bring them along. Otherwise, LCC will provide everyone with the necessary supplies. Please pre-register for this event by emailing
conservation@leecounty.org or by calling the office at 319-463-7673. LCC will have tasks for all ages, so bring the whole family and leave a lasting effect this Earth Day
