Susan Marie Monnier, 71, of Hamilton, Illinois, passed away at 9:02 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at her  home in Hamilton.
She was born on February 11, 1953 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of William and Dorothea (Weber) Lange. On October 20, 1973, she married David Monnier in Nauvoo, Illinois, they later divorced.
Susan is survived by two daughters: Lisa Monnier Latham of Hamilton, Illinois and Chrissy Monnier of Hamilton, Illinois; one granddaughter, Kaylee Latham; and one brother, Bernard Lange of Fort Madison, Iowa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Linda Henriksen and Luella Lange in infancy; two brothers: Robert Lange and Edward Lange; two sisters-in-law: Carol “Lana” Lange and Mary Lange.
She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo.
Susan was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved caring for her rescue animals, playing solitaire on her computer, watching birds, flowers, and being close to the Mississippi River.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo.
A graveside service will be held following the visitation at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Nauvoo, with Father Tony Trosley as celebrant.
A memorial has been established in her memory for Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
