FM Police looking for stabbing suspect

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Police Department is searching for a 29-year-old Fort Madison man in connection with a multiple stabbing that took place in the early morning hours of Nov. 27 outside a Fort Madison bar.

Police Chief Tim Sittig said police are currently looking for John W. Huss of Fort Madison as a suspect in the stabbing of two Hamilton, Ill. men at 12:11 a.m on the 27th. Based upon the investigation to date, Sittig said police believe Huss stabbed the two brothers as part of fight at the bar.

As a result of the continuing investigation police are looking for Huss who is 5’9” tall, weighs approximately 185 lbs., he has brown hair and brown eyes, and numerous tattoos.

There are current arrest warrants for Mr. Huss on the following charges:

2 counts of carrying weapons aggravated misdemeanors

2 counts of willful injury Class D felonies

2 counts of attempted murder Class B felonies

Upon arrival at the scene that night, police discovered the two victims, one had wounds to his right thumb and abdomen and the second victim had two wounds to his left arm and right side of his back.

Emergency crews attended to the victims and they were transported to the Fort Madison Community Hospital and treated.
