FORT MADISON - What could go more perfectly with a dusting of snow than a warm, musical production at the quaint Old Fort Players this weekend.

OFP cast will present "A Taffeta Christmas" tonight beginning at 7:30. The production will run today through Sunday with a 2 p.m. Sunday showing, and will continue next Thursday through Saturday (15th-17th) at 7:30 p.m. to help ring in the holidays.

The cast is highlighted by Kelly Shields as "Kay", Laura Archibald as "Peggy", Dawn Marie Eid as "Cheryl" and Judy Milks as "Donna". Virginia Watson, Michael Haas and Dennis Dowell make up the band. Shields played in last year's an OFP Christmas. Archibald is making her first appearance for the OFP but is very active in Fort Madison High School's show choir efforts. Eid is an 11-year veteran with OFP, and this is also Milks' first effort on the stage for OFP.

Dennis Dowell is directing the production and has two other OFP credits to his name including "Have a Nice Day" and "A Thousand Clowns".

The setting is a Moose Hall in Muncie, Indiana in a 'Dumont Television' production of "Hometown Holiday Hoedown", complete with traditional holiday melodies and some other merriment mixed in.

The play is two acts with a 15-minute intermission. Lee County Bank is the executive producer of the show along with OFP.

Cost is $15 at the door for adults and $10 for students.

The stockings are hung and the stage is set for this weekend's performance of "A Taffeta Christmas" at the OFP 725 Avenue G
