HTC underclassman take two from Central Lee

The Holy Trinity Catholic's 9th grade and junior varsity boys basketball squads each took games from visiting Central Lee Monday night.

Freshman Matt Hellige poured in 21 points in the 9th grade game and then came back with 14 in the junior varsity game to lead the Crusaders on the night. Reed Fehseke combined for 26 points total on the night.

Fehseke and Quentin Schneider had high points in the junior varsity game with 15 each as HTC raced to a 37-26 halftime lead. Fehseke nailed three 3-pointers and went a 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Schneider had two beyond the three-point arc as the Crusaders put away Central Lee 66-42 in the game. Hellige had 14, Brant Holtkamp had 12 points. Blake Crabtree had 5 points, Adam Rauenbueler had 3. Kyle Brodemeyer and Ryder Brune each added a point.

In the 9th grade game, HTC won 55-45 sparked by Hellige's 21 as HTC led 27-5 in the first half. Hellige went 11-of-16 from the free throw line in the win. Fehseke chipped in with 11 in the game and Schneider added 8.
