Search for missing boaters to resume Wed. morning

MONTROSE - The search for two area boaters that went missing on the Mississippi River Tuesday afternoon was suspended at approximately 6:45 Tuesday evening.

Law enforcement from around Lee County searched for the missing boaters for the better part of the afternoon in icy river conditions and bitter wind chills. The search was suspended due to darkness. Lee County Sheriff Stacy Weber said emergency crews will resume the search tomorrow morning early and are considering bringing in an airplane at around 8 a.m. to assist in the search. Weber also said the boaters have been identified, but names will not be released until all efforts to locate the victims have been exhausted.
