Steffensmeier named FMCH October Employee of the Month

FORT MADISON – Fort Madison Community Hospital recognized Dr. Leah Steffensmeier as their October Employee of the Month. Dr. Steffensmeier is a Board Certified Gynecologist who sees patients in The Women’s Center at FMCH. She has been with FMCH for over twelve years.

Dr. Steffensmeier was recognized for consistently going above and beyond for her patients. Dr. Steffensmeier gave up her personal time to make sure one of her elderly patients, who was very nervous and apprehensive about her surgery, was treated in a timely and caring manner; performing the procedure and providing immediate follow-up. In the words of her nurse, “She makes me proud to work for such a caring, compassionate provider.”

The Employee of the Month is an initiative developed by the Reward & Recognition team. Each month a FMCH employee is honored for going above and beyond for the good of the patient, their co-workers and the organization.
