Task force nabs Keokuk man

MONTROSE - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Keokuk, Iowa man on misdemeanor drug charges.

Kenneth Michael Howell, 23, of 1203 ½ Bank, Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on Jan. 25th, 2017 at his residence on misdemeanor drug charges. Howell is charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine and marijuana), a serious misdemeanor. If convicted, Howell faces up to 2 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Howell stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the use of illegal narcotics in the Lee County area.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Keokuk Police Department and the Department of Human Services assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
