Juanita Ruth Sawyer, 74, of Ft. Madison passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Great River Hospice House.
She was born on June 26, 1942 in Ft. Madison to Arthur and Ruth Snyder Wilson. On August 6, 1962 she married Frank R. Sawyer and he passed away on September 9, 2010. Juanita was a teacher at Head Start and also sold Avon products for numerous years. She was a member of Ft. Madison Christian Church. Juanita enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting and decorating ostrich eggs.

Survivors include three sons, Frank Sawyer Jr of Ft. Madison; Steven (Shryl) Sawyer of Vinemont, AL and David (Kathy) Sawyer of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Charlotte (Norm) Dodson of Ft. Madison, Juanita Ruth (Wayne) Smith of Burlington, Laura (Dean) Walker of Ft. Madison and Pamela Sawyer of Mt. Pleasant; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, Leon Wilson and Gerald Wilson of Ft. Madison; one sister, Billie Mosher of Ft. Madison and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Harold and Raymond Wilson.
The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11 AM at Ft. Madison Christian Church with Rev. Mike McHugh officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
