Redd-Donald places 5th in long jump at Washington Indoor

PCC STAFF MT. VERNON - The Bloodhounds junior Shance Redd-Donald placed 5th in long jump Friday night at the Washington Demons Indoor. Redd-Donald's performances was just short of medaling by .75". It was also Fort Madison's best result of the night, but Head Coach Erin Benner said she was impressed with a lot of the Bloodhound work Friday night. "They all did well, but I was especially impressed with Donald's performance in the long jump," Benner said. The next best finish of the night for the Hounds was an 11th-place finish by senior Jared Kester, junior Aaron Steffensmeier and Holy Trinity Catholic freshmen Quentin Schneider and Matt Hellige. who finished the 4x800m relay in 9:11.84. Hellige had the next best individual time for the Hounds in the 1600-meter run where he placed 16th with a time of 5:03.38 out of 25 teams. Steffensmeier was right behind in 18th place at 5:05.82. Benner said she was also pleased with Schneider's run in the 400M dash where he came in 20th place with a time of 56.79 out of 51 runners. "I was also pleased with (Elijah) Barnes shot put, Hellige's 1600, and the 4x800's performance. I am looking forward to the rest of the season," she said.
