MARSHALLTOWN – The Fort Madison Sailfish brought home three first-place finishes and two 2nds at the 2017 YMCA State Swim meet on March 4.
Jacob Mohrfeld, swimming in the 13-14 age group, took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Brayden Wyrick took first place in the 9-10 boys group in the 50-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Boys 9-10 year old 200-yard freestyle relay team of John Cottrell, Aiden Benda, Samuel Hasenclever and Brayden Wyrick took 2nd place with a time of 2:08.12, and the boys 9-10 year old 200-yard medley relay comprised of the same swimmers also took 2nd place with a time of 2:20.87.
