King's Daughters host sandwich fundraiser

FORT MADISON - The Potowonok Circle of King's Daughters is holding their Marshall Field's Sandwich fundraiser on April 4, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 719 Avenue H in Fort Madison.

The Marshall Field’s Sandwich event is to raise money for their local service program. Potowonok is a non-denominational Christian service organization that actively serves the Fort Madison and surrounding communities through grants and volunteer work.

The circle serves the community by delivering meals on wheels, helping senior citizens maintain their independence, conducting vision screenings at area pre-schools and assisting with kindergarten round-up at Holy Trinity Elementary.

In addition to their services, they adopt a local family or two each year. These families have fallen upon hard times and the circle provides assistance with utilities, food, gas for their vehicles, gifts at Christmas and other needs that may arise. The Circle is also a large supporter of Camp Lookout. They send ten underprivileged children to camp each year and provide them with the necessary gear. Furthermore, the circle donates scholarships to assist women attending college at SCC.

The event is for carry in or carry out for $10 and includes a large sandwich and a large cookie.

Pre-orders by March 30, 2017. Email fmpotowonok@gmail.com with # of sandwiches, pick up time or delivery location, name and phone. Free deliveries on orders of 10 or more. For questions, call 319-470-7713 or visit their Facebook page here.
