Ronald Wagner, 48, of Montrose, IA drowned on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 as a result of a boating accident on the Mississippi River at Montrose and he was recovered on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 near Keokuk.

He was born on January 29, 1968 in Ft. Madison to Roy L. and Geraldine Nelle Wagner. Ron was a certified mechanic and a logger. He was a commercial fisherman following in his dad’s footsteps and he passed that love down to his son, Sheldon. Ron also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his friends.

Survivors include his son Sheldon Wagner of Ft. Madison; a daughter, Sheena Wagner of Montrose; his dad, Roy Wagner of Montrose; his mom, Jerri Welsh of Washington, MO and a sister, Janet (Eric) Rudd of Washington, MO. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1 PM at Montrose Cemetery with Reverend Bill Willis officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
