PCC STAFF

Fort Madison Community Hospital recognized Arsenia Smith as their February Employee of the Month. Smith works as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Medical/Surgical Unit. She has been with FMCH for ten years. Smith was recognized with the following nomination:

"This employee exemplifies the standards of behavior in every category. She treats all of our guests like first class, giving them her undivided attention, bringing a smile to their faces, and most importantly always staying positive in those difficult situations. She proctors our new employees and sets a high standard for them to follow, then models that behavior—ALWAYS! What I love about this employee is that she has a way to boost the morale and move the team forward. She is a positive thinker and never sees a difficult situation as negative, looking for an opportunity to turn it all around! This employee is self-motivated, she never waits for someone to find her something to do. She is constantly busy and always sets a good example. When this employee is done with her patient care duties, she finds time to stock patient rooms or organize our store room. If we need extra help on the second shift this employee will stay over to help when she can, taking vitals and making sure our patient’s needs are taken care of."

“My favorite part of working at FMCH are the great co- workers I work with every day. Good teamwork, good environment and everyone is friendly. I especially want to recognize Michelle Callahan-Moore for making a difference in my career at FMCH,” Smith said.

Smith spends her free time with her family and friends; being outside gardening, and walking her dog; as well as cooking.

The Employee of the Month is an initiative developed by the Reward & Recognition team. Each month a FMCH employee is honored for going above and beyond for the good of the patient, their co-workers and the organization.
