Lady Hounds finish 4th at Demon Relays

WASHINGTON - Sierra Howardson set a new meet record in the 3000-meter run, taking the honor from Fort Madison's own Sarah Steffensmeier, with a time of 10:58.12 to take first place and lead the Lady Hounds at the Demon Relays Thursday night.

Brynn Schroeder, Claire Mendez, Kamryn Bailey and Howardson also teamed up to take the title in the Distance Medley with a time of 4:43.44. Brett Schneider continues to dominate in the 800-meter run with another first-place finish in a time of 2:22.37. Howardson was third in that event at 2:31.06.

Bailey, Lexi Miller, Maddy McVey and Mendez captured a second in the 4x800-meter relay at 11:07.01.

800-meter run - Brittney Sanford, Nadine Scheafer, Paige Munson and Alaina Gilpin 2:17.94 (10th)

3000 meter run - Sierra Howardson 10:58.12 (1st), Claire Hellman 13:59.84 (13th)

4x800-meter relay - Kamryn Bailey, Lexi Miller, Maddy McVey and Claire Mendez 11:07.01 (2nd)

100-meter dash - Brittiney Harris 15.11 (14th), Brittney Sanford 15.74 (17th)

Distance Medley - Brynn Schroeder, Mendez, Bailey and Howardson 4:43.44 (1st)

400-meter dash - Lexi Miller 1:17.56 (9th); Daylyn Wondra 1:20.83 (11th)

4x200-meter relay - Bailey, Schroeder, McVey and Mendez 2:05.08 (7th)

100-meter hurdles - E. Miller 20.49 (12th)

800-meter run - Brett Schneider 2:22.37 (1st); Howardson 2:31.06 (3rd)

200-meter dash - McVey 30.44 (6th); Schroeder 31.53 (11th)

400-meter hurdles - E. Miller 1:22.05 (6th)
