Letter to Editor - FMHS Sports booster board wants you

Posted

Dear Editor

The Bloodhound Sports Booster Club has proudly supported student-athletes for many years from Fort Madison High School and Middle School. Funds have been raised to complete many projects over the years includng a John Deere Gator for the Activities Department, the Bark-N-Bite Pavilion. The high school weight room and equipment, numerous uniforms for the high school and middle school sports, wrestling mats. All-State plaques and scholarships among many other things. They also provide teams with money to attend off-season camps if they so choose.

None of what has been accomplished could have happened without the efforts of a countless number of people who gave a lot of their time to the Boosters. Thanks is not enough for what they have done. Unfortunately, membership in the club has dwindled to an extreme low over the past couple of years. We need your help.

If you have a student that is, or that you know is going to be, involved in athletics, we highly encourage you to get involved. Even if you don't have a student in athletics, your support is welcomed. Our goal is to help the Activities Department in obtaining items for the various programs that would otherwise be very difficult to obtain. Our next project is that we would like to help them purchase new outdoor scoreboards at the high school to replace that antiquated ones currently in place.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Atlas Steakhouse beginning at 7 p.m. Please come be part of our group to help our student-athletes.

Mark Cartwright, Booster President

Andrew Mitchell, Activities Director
