Lee County task force nabs two

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Warsaw, Illinois man and a Fort Madison, Iowa man on misdemeanor drug charges in unrelated incidents.

LONGANECKER

Bradley Mitchell Longenecker, 47, of 612 Main Street, Warsaw, Illinois was arrested on March 31st, 2017 in the 2100 block of Exchange Street on misdemeanor drug warrants. Longenecker is charged with Possession Of Methamphetamine Second Or Subsequent Offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. If convicted, Longenecker faces up to 2 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Longenecker stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the use of illegal narcotics in the Lee County area. A search warrant was served in connection to this investigation in 2016 and items that support the charges were discovered.

SWANSON

In an unrelated matter, Gary Lee Swanson Jr., 29, of 3421 Avenue N #110, Fort Madison, Iowa was arrested at 3101 Avenue O in Fort Madison on misdemeanor drug warrants. Swanson is charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and Maintaining A Drug House, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted, Swanson faces up to 2 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Swanson stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that Swanson was involved in the use of illegal drugs in the Fort Madison area. A search warrant was served earlier this year in connection to this investigation and items that support the charges were discovered.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Fort Madison Police Department, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Iowa State Penitentiary K9 Unit and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
