Task force arrests man on felony drug charges

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Keokuk, Iowa man on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

SISTERN

Chad Dean Sistern, 31, of 1505 Cedar Street, Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on April 9th, 2017 in Keokuk on felony and misdemeanor drug charges. Sistern is charged with Possession Of Marijuana With The Intent To Deliver, a class D felony, Drug Tax Stamp Violation, a class D felony, Possession With Intent To Deliver Valium, an aggravated misdemeanor, and two counts of Possession Of Methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor. If convicted, Sistern faces up to 14 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Sistern stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the use and sale of illegal narcotics in the Lee County area. A search warrant was served in connection to this investigation and items that support the charges were discovered.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office and the Keokuk Police Department assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
