FMHS boys run at Denny White Relays

MT. PLEASANT – The Fort Madison boys track team finished 13th of 20 teams at the Denny White Relays at Mount Pleasant.

Matt Hellige and Elijah Barnes both had second-place finishes with Hellige taking 2nd in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:59.33. Barnes toss of the shot put 49-05 was also good enough for 2nd place. Hellige also captured 3rd in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:04.72. Caleb Gehle took first in the 101-meter wheelchair and 200-meter wheelchair and the chair shot put.

Quentin Schneider scored two fifth-place finishes one in the 400-meter dash at 54.95 and in the 400-meter hurdles 1:01.50.

4×200-meter relay – Fort Madison: Gully, Rashid, Zander Schweiss and Jared Kester, 1:42.72 (6th)

110-meter hurdles – Joseph Hummel, 19.55 (7th)

800-meter run – Dayne Cordray, 2:21.42 (8th), Joseph Grabowski, 2:25.55. (11th)

200-meter dash – Logan Rashid 27.73 (14th)

400-meter hurdles – Quentin Schneider, 1:01.50 (5th), Matthew Meierotto, 1:07.93 (10th)

1600-meter run – Matthew Hellige 4:59.33 (2nd)

4×100-meter relay – Fort Madison: Gully, Grabowski, Cordray and Meierotto, 52.22 (8th)

4×400-meter relay – Fort Madison: Aaron Steffensmeier, Jared Kester, Schneider and Schweiss, 4:04.08 (6th)

Long Jump: Logan Rashid 16-05.50 (13th)

Boys Shot Put: Elijah Barnes 45-09.00 (2nd), Dylan Eid 32-01.00(17th), Caleb Gehle (chair division – 13-01.25 (1st)

Discus Throw: Barnes 117-00 (6th), Heath Hoenig 94.04 (15th)
