Posted

Friday, April 21, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. is the final day to pre-register to vote in the Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Special Election. You must be a United States Citizen, a Lee County resident and at least 17 ½ years old to register to vote, but 18 years old by Election Day in order to vote.

Residents may register to vote in person at the Lee County Auditor’s Office located at 933 Avenue H, Fort Madison from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or the South Lee County Courthouse, 25 N. 7th St, Keokuk located at the west hall across from the Lee County Assessor’s Office, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. You may also download and print a form from the Lee County website-www.leecounty.org.

Iowa law now allows eligible persons to register and vote at the polls on Election Day. An Election Day registrant must provide acceptable proof of identity and current residence in the precinct. Voters choosing this option should plan to take a few extra minutes for the transaction.

Regular office hours are 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
