HTC's Schneider takes first in 800 at junior high relays

WEST BURLINGTON - The Holy Trinity Catholic girls and boys Junior High track team competed at the West Burlington Junior High Relays on Friday.

Raquel Schneider led the way for the Lady Crusaders taking first place in the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 2:40.56. Taking second place in the 100-meter dash was Anna Sobczak with a personal best time of 14.42. Schneider added a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.65 and Sobczak added a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.21.

Annabelle Scheetz placed sixth in her two field events - the shot put and discus.

"She has a great work ethic and has been steadily improving," said coach Chad Hannum.

Scheetz threw the discus 55’5.5” and the shot put 21’3”. The 4 x 100-meter relay team consisting of Tessa Gendron, Schneider, Scheetz, and Sobczak took fourth place with a time of 1:04.32.

Tessa Gendron competed in the 200-meter run with a time of 35.96 good enough for seventh place . She also raced in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 16.80 and 14th place. Anna Schroeder competed in the 100-meter dash (18.47) and the 400-meter dash (1:38.12).

For the Boys, Garrett Hannum was the lone Crusader competing. He took second place in the 200 hurdles with a time of 30.83 and he placed third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:00.84. He added a fourth place in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.31.
