King-Lynk Obituary - Michael Robert Rehm, 67, Fort Madison

Michael Robert Rehm, 67, of Fort Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 7:13 AM at his sister’s home.
He was born on June 8, 1949 in Burlington, IA to Robert and Betty Bentrim Rehm. In December of 1968 he married Sheila Welch Ayers and they later divorced. Mike worked at First Miss and Exide and was also an independent contractor for several people. He was also a cook at Chinz’s and Captain Kirks. Mike served in the US Army with the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Eagles Club. Mike enjoyed grilling, spending time with his family and music, especially the guitar.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Tonya) Rehm of West Point and James Rehm of Franklin; his mother, Betty Rehm of West Point; a sister, Jean (Bob) Chesnut of Wever; one granddaughter, Sadie Smithburg of West Point; two sisters in law, Kim Rehm-Jud of Ft. Madison and Heidi Rehm of Denmark; two nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, David and Pat and his grandparents.
The memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, May 1, 2017 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Dean Graber officiating. The family will meet with friends from 1-2 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military rites performed by the Ft. Madison Veterans Honor Guard.
