Kristine K. Krogmeier, 52, of Burlington and formerly of Ft. Madison, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2:45 AM at the Great River Hospice House. She was a twelve year breast cancer survivor and unfortunately the cancer came back and overtook her body.
She was born on February 15, 1965 in Ft. Madison to Patrick and Joyce Jones Krogmeier. Kris had lived at Hope Haven for thirty years and for the past several years resided at the Krogmeier Site at Hope Haven. She loved the color purple. Kris also enjoyed music, scary movies, chocolate and doing crafts. She was an avid fan of Kyle Busch #18 NASCAR driver and Chuck Norris.
Survivors include her parents, Pat and Joyce Krogmeier of Ft. Madison; her sister, Gina Hansen of Gladstone, Oregon and her children Nicole Schukow, Jessica and Jennifer Hansen; a brother, Perry (Rita) Krogmeier of Wilmington, NC and their children, Cory and Katie Krogmeier; aunts and uncles including her favorite uncle, Steve “Gus” Jones of Ft. Madison. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at King-Lynk Funeral Home with Rev. Lanette Van officiating. The family requests that anyone attending the service please wear something purple to honor Kris. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
