Task force arrests woman on drug charges

KEOKUK – The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a former Keokuk, Iowa woman on a misdemeanor drug charge.

MINTER

Sandra Minter, 31, of Oquawka, Illinois was arrested on April 21, 2017 on a misdemeanor drug charge. Minter is charged with Maintaining a Drug House, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted, Minter faces up to 2 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Minter stems from an investigation in 2014 by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that she was involved in the use of illegal narcotics in the Keokuk area. During the investigation, a search warrant was served and items that support the charge were discovered.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Keokuk Police Department, Iowa State Penitentiary K9 unit, and the Tactical Response Unit comprised of Fort Madison and Keokuk police officers assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
