FAIRFIELD - The Fort Madison Lady Bloodhounds lost 3-0 and split the season with Southeast Conference frontrunner Fairfield in Thursday high school soccer action.

The Hounds only managed two shots on goal, one by junior Taylor Shannan and the other by senior Emily Wolf. Coming into the game Shannan was averaging a stellar 54% success on her shots on goal with 13 on 24 attempts and Wolf was at 46% with 12 goals on 26 attempts.

Sophomore goaltender Josie Pumphrey, who had held four of the last five teams scoreless including the last three straight, was voted player of the game by the coaches after the game.

"Josie Pumphrey played a great game and had several spectacular saves," head coach Sebastian Seifert said.

Pumphrey has only given up 12 goals in the last 11 games, a span that has seen the Hounds put up 40.

The Hounds are 8-4 on the year with a 3-3 record in the loop and travel to Davenport North on Friday with a battle with Holy Trinity looming next Thursday.
