MONTROSE - LeeComm E-911 director Diana Fincher-Smith has submitted her resignation to the PSAP board of directors.

The Public Safety Answering Point Control Board's Wednesday 2 p.m. meeting agenda has an item to consider the resignation of LeeComm Director Diana Fincher-Smith.

The board met in closed session at Fincher-Smith's request to discuss her performance on May 4, but she wasn't in attendance at the meeting, and no action was taken out of the 15-minute closed session. The Wednesday agenda includes consideration of her May 10th resignation and a release agreement.

Fincher-Smith was the Administrator of LeeComm E-911 services. Administrative Dispatcher Marla Hemmie filled in for Fincher-Smith and gave the monthly report to the board on May 4.

Members of the PSAP board include Fort Madison Fire Chief Joey Herren, Keokuk Police Chief Dave Hinton, Fort Madison Police Chief Tim Sittig, Jason Dinwiddie of the West Point Volunteer Fire Department, Lee County Sheriff Stacy Weber, and Gabe Rose, Keokuk Fire Chief.

Board Chairman Hinton declined to comment on the situation at the May 4 meeting citing personnel matters and didn't return a phone call Tuesday to define the release agreement or the situation surrounding the resignation.

The May 4 closed session was called to "Discuss the performance of the director in closed session as allowed in Iowa Code 21.5 (1)(i) - 'To evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation, and that individual requests a closed session'."
