Delores Carol Rea, 78, of Niota, Illinois, passed away at 10:45 A.M. Thursday June 29, 2017 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

Born December 26, 1938 at Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Gottlieb J. and Jessie D. Cunningham Bollin. On April 13, 1958 at the Appanoose Presbyterian Church in Niota, Illinois she married Glen D. Rea. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2017.

Survivors include her children: Glenda (Ralph) Newbanks of Donnellson, Iowa, Diana (Gary) Stromer of West Point, Iowa, Tim (Carol) Rea of Niota, Illinois, Sasha Rea (adopted granddaughter) of Burlington, Iowa, grandchildren: Jodie Hay, Holly Howard, Amber Rea, Brandon Rouse, Jill McClellan, Brian Rea, Dillon Rea, Nathan Newbanks and Jessie Newbanks, eight great grandchildren: Lauren King, Danika Dotson, Isabella Tweedy, Caleb Rea, Hudson Tweedy, Kylie McClellan, Addison McClellan and Carter Rea.. Two brothers: Arden (Mary) Bollin of Hamilton, Illinois and Lyle (Connie) Bollin of Rensselaer, Indiana. Sisters-in-law Betty (Bill) Boyer of Carthage, Illinois, Leanne (Jim) Derks of Anchorage, Alaska, Carolyn (Carl Hellige) McMillen of Ft Madison, Iowa, Vonnie Rea of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Rayma Rea of Dallas City, Illinois, Faye Rea of Colchester, Illinois. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, son-in-law Marty Howard and niece Chase Bollin.

Delores attended the Powellton Grade School and was a 1956 graduate of Nauvoo High School. She then attended Western Illinois University. She started her career at Winegard Company in August of 1965. She worked there for 24 years as line leader, supervisor and eventually plant manager. In 1991 she and Glen purchased the Homeport in Niota which they operated until the Flood of 1993.

The family will meet with friends from 12:30 until 2:00 Sunday at the Appanoose Faith Presbyterian Church near Niota.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday July 2, 2017 at the Appanoose Faith Presbyterian Church near Niota with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating.

Burial will be in the Appanoose Township Cemetery near Niota.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory to the Appanoose Faith Presbyterian Church, the Niota Fire Department or Niota Flood Control.
