Hounds fall to Centerville Friday

CENTERVILLE - Sophomore Jordyn Gerdes hit a two-run double in a three-run fifth inning to cap off the scoring for FMHS in a 11-3 loss to Centerville on the road in high school baseball action.

Ryan Steffensmeier took the loss for the Hounds. Brandon Richelt came in in relief. The Hounds spotted Centerville eight runs in the first four innings before getting on the board in the fifth.

Gerdes led the Hounds at the plate going 2-of-4 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. Logan Allen also went 2-of-4 with an RBI. Steffensmeier and Aaron Steffensmeier, along with Tyler O'Tool and Carlos Gonzalez, all had singles for the Hounds. Both Steffensmeiers scored a run in the game.

The Hounds are 1-27 on the season and host Keokuk in a doubleheader Monday night.
