Ramona Mae Lewiston, 88 years, of Montrose, Iowa died at 6:30 am Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison. She was born on March 25, 1929 in Clio, Iowa, daughter of Theodore M. and Mamie Emily (Beaman) Cook. She married James Philip “Phil” Lewiston Sr. on March 12, 1948 in Perry, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1994.

Mrs. Lewiston was a school teacher and taught for 28 years at Central Lee Schools. She was a member of Calvary First Assembly of God Church and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her many house plants, and doing crossword puzzles. She was deeply devoted to her family, former students, and friends.

She is survived by three sons: James P. (Christal) Lewiston Jr, of Montrose; Ted (China) Lewiston, of Bellevue, Nebraska; and Tom (Teri) Lewiston, of Bellevue, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a special friend, Marsha Hayes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Linda Grover, and one brother T. Robert Cook.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A funeral will follow and begin at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Barr Memorial Chapel with Reverend Scott Gruening officiating. Burial will be at Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Iowa. A memorial is established for the Calvary First Assembly of God Church and/or PAWS.
