WEST POINT – Dennis Menke, campaign chairman for the Holy Trinity Catholic elementary school project, is pleased to announce that a recent surge of donations has pushed fundraising totals past the halfway point to build a new school. "This project started with the community's belief in the importance of faith-based education. The only way to continue this 150-year-old tradition is to provide students and teachers with a modern and safe school." The campaign crossing the half-way point, with over four million dollars donated, is due in part to alumni, parents, grandparents, parish members, and local businesses uniting together to build a future for local children.

HTC Elementary School has provided the surrounding community with the means to educate children, not only in the general classroom setting, but also through quality religious education instruction. However, the age and condition of the current elementary school poses problems for creating a high-quality learning environment for children. The current building has served children for well for over one hundred years; however, its outdated structure, configurations and support spaces do not meet the dynamic needs of a quality 21st century education.

To address the needs and plans for the future, the school is initiating an intensive fundraising effort entitled the “HTC Elementary School Project” campaign. The aim of this important effort is to raise the funds required to expand and improve the elementary school campus.

This fundraising effort will provide the means for the construction of new 21st century collaborative learning spaces, enclose and unify the campus, create new offices and expanded storage space, and make necessary handicap accessibility upgrades.

According to Menke, the campaign committee has held over 40 informational meeting to community members to raise awareness of the current conditions of the school and to gather input of the community for the success of the project. Menke is very humbled and thankful for the support of all the volunteers for their effort and time towards this great cause.

Menke is hoping to keep this surge moving forward with continues generosity of those who value future of our young generation and many generations to come.
