Task force makes another drug bust

KEOKUK - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Keokuk, Iowa man on misdemeanor drug charges.

Troy Allen Edmiston, 28, of Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on August 9th, 2017 at 1301 Main Street in Keokuk on misdemeanor drug charges. Edmiston is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor, possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. If convicted, Edmiston faces up to 2 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Edmiston stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the use of illegal drugs in the Lee County area.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Keokuk Police Department assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
