Loebsack to visit FM Friday


FORT MADISON – Congressman Dave Loebsack will visit Fort Madison on Friday as part of his “Iowa First” tour around the state.


Loebsack will be touring the ongoing upper apartment construction projects currently underway by Barker Financial out of Iowa City with Schickedanz Construction of Fort Madison. The projects include the old Lee County Bank building and Cattermole Library.

He’s scheduled to be in Fort Madison at 2:30 p.m. and according to a release from his office, Rep. Loebsack will be discussing the real life impact the Republicans’ proposed budget will have on local communities.

He will also be stopping at the Silgan Container Corporation in Burlington prior to his visit to Fort Madison. He then will be moving on to Keokuk for a stop at Keokuk Steel Casting where he will tour that facility and meet with new owners Brad and Annie Mills and Lee County Economic Development officials.
