MONTROSE - Lee County Conservation will be hosting a monarch butterfly program on Saturday, September 16th at the Lee County Conservation Center starting at 1:00 p.m.

The program will include an overview of monarchs and their amazing life cycle. Participants will also get to try their hand at capturing and tagging monarchs. Monarch tagging is one of the main tools scientists use to monitor the monarch population. If participants have monarchs they reared at home and would like to tag them, they are welcome to bring them to the program.

The cost of the program is $2.00 per person.

The Lee County Conservation Center is located at 2652 Hwy 61 north of Montrose. For more information about the program, contact Lee County Conservation at 319-463-7673.
