Dennis wins junior high girls VB meet

VAN BUREN - Katelyn Dennis motored to a first-place finish at the Van Buren cross country meet last week to pace Fort Madison Middle School.

Dennis ran the 1.5 mile meet with a time of 9:17, eight seconds ahead of Van Buren's Faith Neeley. Tauren Settles was fourth overall in the meet and second for Fort Madison with a mark of 9:38.

Other top finishers for Fort Madison included Emily Steffensmeier 10:24, Myla Blanchard 10:48, Ellie Schulte, 10:52, Breeann Walston 10:53, Mcleena Cashman, 11:03, Lauren Otte, 11:04, and Jordyn Boyer 11:29.

HTC girls run

Elliott Dostalek led the Holy Trinity Junior High girls with a time of 11:26 good for 35th place overall. Mary Hellige ran the course in 11:44, and Brooke Mueller 12:49.
