HTC finishes 2nd at Winfield 5K

FORT MADISON - The Holy Trinity boys varsity cross country team continues it's stellar season and Matt Hellige continues to rack up top-5 finishes for the Crusaders.

Hellige had the top time for HTC and took 3rd overall at the meet with a time of 17:31.62. But the Crusaders put four more runners across the line in under 20 minutes to take 2nd place in the team competition.

Blake Crabtree was next for HTC with a time of 18:30.59. Adam Rauenbuehler finished third for the Crusaders and 25th overall with a time of 19:19.87 just under two seconds ahead of Jacob Mohrfeld at 19.21.16 who took the 26th spot overall.

Brant Holtkamp rounded out the scoring for the HTC with a 30th-place finish overall and 29 points for an even 100 for the Crusaders as a team.

Ben Abolt was just behind Holtkamp in 31st and Chandler Rung took 59th place overall.

In the junior varsity match, Wyatt Hellman took 12th overall with a 22:55.57 time and Kyle Scheetz finished 14th with a time of 23:00.85.

In the girls junior high 2-mile run Mary Hellige finished 14th overall with a 15:07.70 and Elliot Dostalek, took 25th place overall at 18:03.05.

For the boys junior high run, Philip Goldie again earned a top time taking 1st place with a 10:55.25 time in the 2-mile run. Mikey DiPrima took 10th overall at 12:21.50 and Michael Hellman finished in 17th place with a 12:34.28. Nick Fullenkamp took 30th place
