Joann E. Gustafson, 68, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 9:27 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Fort Madison Community Hospital. She was born on March 22, 1949 in Moline, IL to John & Margaret Lindstrom Gustafson. She worked as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal and later worked as a special needs associate at the Fort Madison Middle School. She enjoyed visiting with her friends in her card club, reading, the gulf coast when she lived in Mississippi and her special needs students.

Joann is survived by: 1-daughter: Carrie (Mike) Mayer of Denmark, IA; 1-granddaughter: Elizabeth Mayer of Iowa City, IA; 4-brothers: David (Helen) Gustafson of Georgia, Tom (Marty) Gustafson of Mississippi, Sam Gustafson of North Carolina & Jimmy Gustafson of Illinois. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 1-son: Mike Wren and 1-Brother: Johnny Gustafson.

Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October, 12, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Moline, IL. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moline, IL. A memorial has been established in her memory.
