Task force makes multiple arrests in Lee County

LEE COUNTY – The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of three Lee County, Iowa men on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

SPRING

David Lee Spring, 34, of Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on October 6th, 2017 in the 500 block of Main Street in Keokuk on two felony drug warrants. Spring is charged with two counts of Delivery of Marijuana, a class D felony. If convicted, Spring faces up to 10 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Spring stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Keokuk area.

MANNING

In an unrelated matter, Colby Matthew Manning, 24, of 1148 Johnson Street Road, Keokuk, Iowa was arrested on October 7th, 2017 at the Keokuk Police Department on a felony drug warrant. Manning is charged with Delivery of Methamphetamine Less than Five Grams, a class C felony. If convicted, Manning faces up to 10 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Manning stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that he was involved in the distribution of methamphetamine in the Keokuk area.

SMITH

In an unrelated matter, Timothy John Smith, 41, of 1125 48th Street #17, Ft. Madison, Iowa was arrested on October 7th, 2017 in the 3400 block of Avenue N in Fort Madison on felony and misdemeanor drug charges. Smith is charged with Possession with intent to Deliver Less Than Five Grams Of Methamphetamine within 1000 Feet Of A Park Second Or Subsequent Offense, a class C felony with enhancements, Possession of Marijuana Second or Subsequent Offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. If convicted, Smith faces up to 47 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility.

The arrest of Smith stems from a traffic stop conducted by a Fort Madison Police Officer. During the course of the traffic stop, items that support the charges were discovered.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Keokuk Police Department, Fort Madison Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
