FM 8th graders end season with loss

BY PCC STAFF FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison 8th grade football team ended the season in a rain-shortened game Tuesday at Keokuk. The Chiefs scored on the final play of the first half to take a 16-12 lead and the game was called before the 2nd half could resume due to inclement weather. Jakob McGowan scored both the FMMS touchdowns on long runs. It was the final game of the season for the eighth graders. Last Tuesday, the Hounds fell 38-16 at Washington.
Landes Williams was the leading rusher for Fort Madison with 56 yds. Jakob McGowan had 37 yards and a score and Tate Johnson had 29 yards including a two-point conversion. Williams also led Fort Madison through the air going 4 of 6 for 15 yards and two-point conversion to Johnson.
Johnson caught three balls for nine yards. Austin Ensminger had one catch for six yards. Ensminger, Anthony Tate, Johnson and Williams shared the load on defense.
Fort Madison wrapped up the season 2-4 on the year.
