J Norman Leon Stopher, Jr., 51, of Denmark, IA, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 17, 1966 in Lincoln, IL to J Norman & Joann Jones Stopher, Sr. He worked security at Burlington Steamboat Days and the Tri-State Rodeo and volunteered for the Denmark Boy Scouts.

He is survived by: his companion: Melissa Gibson of West Point, IA; 1-daughter: Stephanie Simpson of Chestnut, IL; 2-sons: Troy Stopher of Lincoln, IL & Ryan Stopher of Mt. Pulaski, IL; 1-adopted son: Lucas Welcher of West Point, IA; 2-grandsons: Kaleb Chapman & Karson Simpson both of Chestnut, IL; his mother: Joann Lyman of Riverton, IL; 2-sisters: Gwendolyn Stopher of Riverton, IL & Kimberly (Joel) Brion of Topeka, KS and 1-brother: Oscar Stopher. He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Twin Oaks Community Room, 107 Park Avenue, Denmark, IA 52624.
