Oct. 27 last day to pre-register for election

LEE COUNTY - Friday, October 27, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. is the final day to pre-register to vote in the Tuesday, November 7, 2017 City Election. You must be a United States Citizen, a Lee County resident and at least 17 ½ years old to register to vote, but 18 years old by Election Day in order to vote.

Residents may register to vote in person at the Lee County Auditor’s Office located at 933 Avenue H, Fort Madison from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or located in the west hall across from the Lee County Assessor’s Office at the South Lee County Courthouse, 25 N. 7th St, Keokuk, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You may also download and print a form from the Lee County website-www.leecounty.org. Mailed voter registration forms need to be postmarked on or before Monday, October 23rd.

Iowa law allows eligible persons to register and vote at the polls on Election Day. An Election Day registrant must provide acceptable proof of identity and current residence in the precinct. Voters choosing this option should plan to take a few extra minutes for the transaction.

Regular office hours are 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
