FM man sought in connection with Friday shooting

FORT MADISON - The Lee County Sheriff is asking Lee County residents for help in locating a suspect in a non-injury shooting that took place Friday just north of Fort Madison near 330th Avenue.

The suspect's name is Tourmaria Resean Baynes, whose last known address was 1409 Avenue F in Fort Madison. Baynes is considered armed and dangerous.

A description provided by the sheriff's department lists him as a 5',11" black male who goes by the nickname or alias "Whammy".

He has brown eyes and black hair and weights approximately 165 pounds. He was born in Pasadena, California.

He has outstanding warrants for attempted murder and intimidation with a dangerous weapon in connection with the Friday shooting.

Lee County Sheriff Stacy Weber said a bullet was pulled from a vehicle that had been shot on Friday and local law enforcement, including the Fort Madison police, tried to locate a vehicle fitting a description given by the motorist whose vehicle had been shot at. No other information on the shooting has been released.

Anyone with information on Baynes' whereabouts should call the Lee County Sheriff's office at 319-372-1152 or 911 or contact Lee County Crime Stoppers at 800-392-8900. A reward may be available through Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Baynes.
