Here's a list we've compiled from information sent in to the Pen City Current to help you plan your Halloween stops through Beggars' Night.

Artist Trax Children of the Night Costume Contest

Costume contest and art during Beggars' Night, Tuesday, October 31st, 5-8pm, 827 Avenue H.

Downtown Fort Madison Trick or Treat

Avenue G from 9th Street to 6th Street will be closed from 5:00 - 7:00 pm for Beggar's Night, Tuesday, October 31st! Bring the kids down and trick or treat with our downtown businesses!

Trick or Treat night in Old Settlers Park

The 2nd annual Trick or Treat night in Old Settlers Park will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday October 31st. Coordinated by the Old Settlers Association, friends, neighbors, and small businesses will be handing out treats to beggars participating in Beggar’s Night.

Trick or Treat night in Old Settlers Park provides a safe family atmosphere with good lighting, adult supervision, an open restroom, and smooth sidewalks (stroller and wheel chairs are welcome!)

Fraise Real Estate will be providing a light supper in Fahey Shelter. Enjoy Halloween fun in the park as well as in downtown Fort Madison. Let’s have some spook-tacular fun!!

Fort Madison’s Dead Zone

Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout October, the undead have taken over old Fort Madison. This interactive venue features the spirits of 1812! Can you survive? Will your Indian spirit guide have enough power to get you through the dead zone? Or will you be screaming for mercy? $5.00 cash at the door! All proceeds in support of Old Fort Madison on the riverfront in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Fort Madison Dead Zone Kid Friendly Halloween

Fort Madison’s Dead Zone will be open free of charge for trick-or-treaters to visit from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Zombie Soldiers, Vampires, Widow Washer Women and all the characters will be handing out candy in the different displays in the fort. Fort closes promptly at 7:00 pm.

Lee County Sheriff’s & Lee County Crimestoppers Halloween Event

Come join us at the 1st Annual Halloween Event hosted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Lee County Crimestoppers.

For all kids 12 and under, wear your costumes, and come out to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office located at 2530 255th Street, Montrose, IA on Monday October 30, 2017 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. for a safe, non-scary event.

FMHS Key Club Carnival

Key Club along with Kiwanis and other Fort Madison Key Club students are putting on their annual Halloween Carnival! There will be games, activities, and prizes along with a costume contest sponsored by Kiwanis! Many more details to follow!

Trick or Treat at Old Lee County Jail

Tuesday, October 31 at 5 PM - 7 PM, 711 Avenue F, Fort Madison.

It not often that you can have an evening tour of the Old Lee County Jail all decorated up for Halloween. The North Lee County Historical Society that leases and cares for the 1867 structure will have it open for Trick or Treaters and tours. A real experience to walk inside an 150 year old historic structure. Donations always welcome to provide for the upkeep of this historic structure.

19th Street Trick or Treat

Join neighborhood businesses for treats, drinks, & eats on Beggars’ Night, Tuesday, October 31 from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm, 19th Street & Avenue H, Fort Madison.

Hill Side Inn Halloween Party

October 28, 8pm-11pm freaturing Chaz and the Channel Catz.

Donnellson Beggars’ Night

Tuesday, October 31, 5pm-7pm

Food & drinks at the Fire Station from 4:30 to 7pm. Cost: Free will donation or canned goods for Local Food Pantry.

Costume Contest at 7:15pm.

The Donnellson Police Department reminds parents that children should wear reflective clothing and dress appropriately for the weather. Please drive with caution!

Boo-ti-ful Nauvoo Pumpkin Walk

Saturday, October 28 at 2 PM - 9 PM

The city of Nauvoo is again coming alive in the Halloween Spirit hosting its annual Pumpkin Walk on Saturday, October 28, 2017. This year’s event will again feature hundreds of hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns that will be lit and displayed along Mulholland Street. Many of the Nauvoo merchants will operate on extended hours with specials, treats and entertainment throughout the day. The 2017 event organizers have made several logistical changes to the event in order to ease some of the traffic congestion of the event. There will be two shuttles to and from designated parking areas as well as a centralized food court. New this year, is a pumpkin chucker!

2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pumpkin Chucking Cannon will shoot every 30 minutes from the hillside west of Wells Street

2:30 p.m. Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” showing at the Kraus’ Theater located inside Grandpa John’s Café. Sponsored by the Nauvoo Public Library & Grandpa John’s Café

5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Food vendors set up at various locations along Mulholland Street and on N. Barnett Street

5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Haunted House at the former N-C Elementary School (enter through Motley Fitness)

Dusk to 9 p.m. Over 500 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns on display along Mulholland Street

6 p.m. Halloween Parade begins at N-C Elementary School and ends in the Nauvoo City Park - come in costume and join in the fun!!

6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. - Photo opportunity with a famous Nauvoo character near the Allyn House

6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Haunted Virtual Forest at the former M&K parking lot (Mulholland and Robinson Street)

Downtown Burlington Trick or Treat

Ghosts and goblins will have a chance to haunt downtown Burlington from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, October 27, with treats available at dozens of participating merchants.

Midwest Haunted Rails

October 27 & 28, 6pm-10pm, Mount Pleasant. Unlimited rides on the Ghost Train, Ghostly Trolley, Haunted Carousel, Blow-Up Rides, and Carnival Rides. Games, Food & Thrashers House of Terror not included. $10 per person, ages 4 and under are free.
