Dorothy Delaney, 96, of Ft. Madison passed away on Friday, November 03, 2017 at 9:50 AM at the West Point Care Center.

She was born on June 14, 1921 in St. Paul, IA to Stephen and Clara Moeller Leveling. On May 26, 1945 she married Donald Delaney in Ft. Madison and he passed away on August 10, 1972. Dorothy worked production at Sheaffer Pen and was a homemaker. She was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and CLA. Dorothy was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, playing cards and was an avid Cubs and Notre Dame fan. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events and activities.

Survivors include three sons, Jim (Patricia) Delaney of Ft. Madison, John (Julie) Delaney of Davenport and Patrick (Terri) Delaney of Fishers, IN; two daughters, Beth Rump of Ft. Madison and Dianne (Bruce) Huddleson of Ft. Madison; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Brother Wilbert “Clarence” Leveling of Notre Dame, IN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son in law, Rich; a brother, Father Carl; four sisters, Betty, Irene, Gen and Mildred.

Friends may call after 2 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will meet with friends from 4:30-6:30 PM. There will be a rosary recited at 4 PM and a wake service will be held at 6:30 PM all at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
