Joseph Lee Hardin, 69, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 11:48 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA. He was born on August 8, 1948 in Fort Madison, IA to William & Mary Shoulet Hardin. He married Carol Kay Murphy in August of 1977 in Fort Madison, IA. He was a locomotive engineer for BNSF for 42 years and was a member of the Fort Madison Elks Lodge, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the National Rifle Association, Shriners and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Joe is survived by: his wife: Carol Hardin of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Steve McCutcheon of Fort Madison, IA: 1-brother: Jerry (Linda) Hardin of Davenport, IA; 1-sister in law: Cheryl Hardin of Fort Madison, IA; 1-nephew and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1-brother.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory and no services are planned. A memorial has been established for P.A.W.
