Gertrude M. Hundt, 94, of Ft. Madison passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 12:10 PM at The Kensington.

She was born on July 3, 1923 in Ft. Madison to Harry and Esther Bueter Patten. On October 20, 1945 she married Carl F. Hundt in Ft. Madison and he passed away on October 21, 2008. Gertrude was a homemaker and had previously worked at Sheaffer Pen. Co, JCPenney and also taught school at Sacred Heart Grade School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar & Rosary Society and was also an avid golfer.

Survivors include one son, James (Michelle) Hundt of Goodyear, AZ; one daughter, Kathleen (Gary) Lampe of Rock Island, IL; two grandsons, Geoff (Tammy) Lampe of DeWitt, IA and Brian (Angela) Lampe of Davenport, IA; three great granddaughters, Kayla and Alyssa Lampe of DeWitt and Penny Lampe of Davenport; two sisters, Mary Sokolik of Des Moines and Lois Delaney of Ft. Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sisters, Dorothy Kipp and Rita Sokolik and one brother, Jay Patten.

The funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church with Reverend Mark P. Spring officiating. The family will meet friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM at the church A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM prior to the visitation. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
