Virginia Louise Walker, 97, of rural Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Jackie. She was born on December 23, 1919 in Fort Madison, IA to George Leonard & Grace Matilda Hassman Eoff. She married John “Jack” Eugene Walker on December 24, 1937 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1992. She was the secretary for the Grand Division Chairman of the Santa Fe Railroad. Shortly after WWII, she worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, worked as a waitress at a café in Wever, returned to the ammunition plant and later served as a receptionist for Weight Watchers. She was a member of Harmony Bible Church, attended Community Bible Study for over two decades and faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher and a shoulder for nursery children to cry on. She was an avid supporter of WTJR Christian Television.

Virginia is survived by: 3-sons: Ronald Lee (Faye) Walker, Gary Lynn (Susan) Walker & Robert Eugene (Patricia) Walker all of rural Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Jacquelyn Kay (Dan) Enger of rural Fort Madison, IA; 14-grandchildren; 20-great grandchildren; 5-great great grandchildren and 2 on the way. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband and 1-infant son, Gale.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service for Virginia will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Chris Carr officiating. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Harmony Bible Church or WTJR Christian Television.
