Nicholas T. Beelman, 51, Mt. Union, died Saturday, December 9th at his home. He was born October 27, 1966 in Ft. Madison to Jack and Ruth Elizabeth Hoenig Beelman. On March 5, 1994, he married Lara Marie Reid at Harmony Bible Church. He was Salutatorian of the class of 1985 at Aquinas High School; attended one year at Southeastern Community College; and graduated from Iowa State in 1989 at the top of his class. He worked as a professional forester and arborist and owned and operated Good Steward Forestry and Tree Care since 1993.
BEELMAN
He was of the Christian faith; enjoyed fishing, bicycling, his hobby farm, spending time with his family. He loved research and expanding his mind. He also treasured his special bond with his nephew, Trent. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Joshua (Sophia) Beelman of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Jack and Greyson, who he adored; his mother, Ruth Coffey of Wever; two brothers, David (Carol) Beelman of Montrose; and Patrick (Denna) Beelman of Farmington; two sisters; Rebecca (Dr. John) Marriott of The Woodlands, Texas, and Deborah (Julie) Beelman of Burlington; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, brother Stephen Beelman and stepfather, Fred Coffey. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday at Elliott Chapel, New London, with Pastor Matt Yaley officiating. Friends may call from 9 AM until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow. A memorial has been established.
