Task Force nabs FM woman on multiple felony drug charges

FORT MADISON – The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a Fort Madison, Iowa woman on felony drug charges.

Tanya Anne Jones, 54, of 816 Avenue F, Fort Madison, Iowa was arrested on today at the Lee County Jail on felony and misdemeanor drug charges. Jones is charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in excess of five grams, a class B felony, drug tax stamp violation, a class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. If convicted, Jones faces up to an additional 30 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility. These charges are in addition to charges filed on Jones on December 19th, 2017.

The arrest of Jones stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that she was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area. Items that support the charges were discovered during the investigation.

Jones was also arrested on December 19th, 2017 at her residence on felony drug charges. Jones is charged with ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony, two counts of delivery of less than five grams of methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a public park, a class C felony with an enhancement, and delivery of less than five grams of methamphetamine, a class C felony. If convicted, Jones faces up to 65 years in a state correctional facility.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Fort Madison Police Department, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.

The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
